Inventors Fair Ruby

‘Roll up, Roll up, the inventors fair is here'.

‘Come see the miraculous, the incredible, the fan-tab-u-lous' announced the orator from his tiny wooden podium. He then leans forward and whispers to you ‘I know that fantabulous is not a word, but this is an inventors fair and if you can't invent a few words here and there, then what's the point, ay!' His moustache twitches in excitement which seems to accentuate the shiny baldness of his head.

‘Buy your tickets here' he announces to the crowd gesticulating in a strange flourish of twisting wrists towards the booth and turnstile.

‘Now good people, ladies and gentlemen, have you been acquainted with the astounding Mr Arac, who will be demonstrating his incredible Home Spider Dentistry Kit or what about Dr Faustus and his amazing security device, The Magic Void'. He pauses for effect before he continues ‘it's a new type of safe which hides your valuables inside a surprising quirk of space-time itself.' Go see him, he's at stall number 253, but then he mutters to you under his breath ‘I suggest you don't let him Magic Void your pet, last one came back a little squishy and the boys keeper was quite disgruntled.'

Suddenly you have a ticket and are through the barrier, and there before you is stall - upon stall - upon stall, this is the inventors fair. Tents and turrets are pitched everywhere, flags and banners billow as smartly suited visitors amble between the stalls. Noises fizz from displays where plumes of pink and purple smoke waft from curious contraptions to the left, right and just about everywhere.

A voting paper is then thrust into your hand and you notice it has six spaces for nominations, this is what you need to fill in and post before you exit.

You glance back and see the sun glint off the Orators shiny head as he disappears back through the gates. His wrists spin above his glistening head as he funnels and encourages more paying visitors through the turnstiles.

Now to the fair.

As you approach the stall you will see a cage. The cage is a machine called the Exploring Machine. It is the size of a basketball and it is on the bench near the flower pot. You will hear people shouting questions and trying it out. The cage is made out of shiny tin. Beside the cage is a book and a globe. You choose which one you want to explore, put it in the cage and pull the lever on the side of the cage. But before you pull the lever you need to put on a special wristband so you can get back home.

Then the most incredible thing happens. A person steps forward, puts the book in the cage, pulls the lever on the side of the cage and..."WHOOSH!"...they are inside the book.

A giant chases the person called Professor Roaming Ruby with a big club. Professor Roaming Ruby goes to press the button on her wrist band but it isn't there...she is stuck in the book forever!

As you approach the stall you will see a queue and you will see a little spark and it catches your eye.You walk over and wonder what it is.When you go to the front your eyes will sparkle because you will love it.It was a multiplying cup to help you with your times table.

A person asked the cup a question and the cup answered as quick as a flash. Then the person asked another question- the same happened again. "Would you like to buy it?" asked mad Millie.

People kept asking questions,"Stop!!" shouted melody Molly. "He is getting tired." Everyone stopped when Melody Molly shouted.Everyone looked shocked.Then the cup was gone.
Molly went home when the sun went down.She didn't know were Millie was.When Molly got home Molly saw Millie with the cup. You decide to leave too.

As you approach the stall you will see a big que and you will wonder what it is ,well when you get to the front of the que you will see a machine called the The Time Machine.The time mashine does lots of things like you can go back in time so you can be a scout and you can go to different places where people have never been before.

So when I heard a whhhooossh so I ran down the stairs and mad millie was out of bed she must have gone down the hole of the back of the machine. So I looked at the back of the machine, she wasn't there. Wait she turned into a scout. At least she is having a good time.

Something then awful happened,when Mad Millie was enjoying her sunny day out in a completely different world, she heard a rumble from the dark,grey clouds she heard strikes of thunder and lightning,she was starting to shake with fear so she then ran back to were she went so l was just about to jump into my bed when l felt a pair of arms rapped around my waist,it was my best friend,Mad Millie.

As you approach the stall you will see a trailer with people gathered around.People were yelling questions at me so I answered quickly. This machine is called the superb store.Then the most incredible thing happened.A person steps up and steps in the trailer and goes in and comes out and says...
"There's nothing in there."So everyone starts chasing Professer Jolly Jake.

As You approach the stall you'll see a frisbe type product in the hand of Professor Zane Zack, it was blue, round and flat just like a normal frisbe, but look a bit more boring. You thought this invention was rubbish but all of a sudden he threw it across the grass and where it landed it turned into a.....TENT!

Amazingly!

Then the most incredible thing happened there were small popping noises and then someone went inside and screamed with joy. Fantastic, you go over yourself and we're just about to step inside when the tent turned back to a frisbe again, with all the people inside.

Oh no, that's terrible, it's just killed lots of people, so quickly move away to another invention.

As you approach the stall you will see an amazing scene, a scene you have never seen before. In front of you, lies an invention called 'The Iron Catupult'. It is the BEST invention you have ever witnessed in the whole of the history of the universe. What you can see is the newest war machine and the best war machine.

The iron catapult is a grenade ,you fire it and when it lands a army of robot men come and hopefully destroy the opposition. When the robot kills a person from the other team they will respawn on the other team.

Then the most incredible thing happened and the catapult caught on fire but it died down really really quickly because it was made of iron. It is the most powerful thing in the universe.

The worst thing happened they ran out of catapult balls it's a disaster.

The Orator approaches, bald head glistening in the sun.

‘Place your sheets in the box and we'll see who the Inventor Supremo is in the 117th inventors fair'.

‘Good good.' Says the orator as you post your sheets, but suddenly there is a huge sound from the middle of the field, you look over and see a jet of blue flame snatch up into the air. A BOOM follows which is so loud you feel it in your chest, and the orators mouth drops open aghast at what is unfolding.

A flash follows with attendants and visitors running pell-mell away from the ‘Mr Bubbles, double bubble super fizz pop' tent. ‘Run for cover' they shout as people dive behind bales of straw just before the BIG explosion.

The next events seem to happen in slow motion as tents flatten across the field and flags bend horizontally away from the epicentre of Mr Bubbles. Then a black wall sweeps across towards you and there is only a moment to duck before it engulfs you. But thankfully it passes in a moment and you stand again to see the orator is covered head to foot in soot! He turns with mouth still open and moustache intact to the single flash of a reporter's camera.

‘Well it would appear that the 117th inventors fair has come to an abrupt end' he says to you with eyebrows raised as high as they will go.

The next day the local paper lands on your hall carpet with this very photograph, the orator is central, treacle black from head to foot and behind him the stately metal dome of Mr Bubbles is spurting with a mountain of foam.

The headline runs with ‘Inventor's Bubble Trouble. Hundreds flee from catastrophic fizzy pop explosion at the 117th inventors fair'.

To the left of the picture you can see yourself looking rather surprised.
